Effect Peppermint on Oral Halitosis Treatment

Effect Peppermint on Oral Halitosis Treatment

Halitosis, better known as bad breath, is not always associated with poor oral hygiene, so we recommend that you learn about various home-made mint remedies to help you get rid of it.

By using mint to stop bad breath, you can get rid of a common problem that many people are ashamed of.

Unlike what most people think, bad breath does not mean that you have poor oral hygiene. Mostly bad breath is a symptom of other disorders.

For example, digestive problems can lead to halitosis. The same thing happens if you often eat foods such as onions, hot sauces, garlic, and so on. In other cases, bad breath occurs because you suffer from a disorder known as “dry mouth”.

Although you can chew gum and even use mouth sprays to hide bad breath, these remedies are not as natural and many are full of sugar and, worse, toxic sugar substitutes.

Peppermint to eliminate bad breath

1. Mint infusion

One of the first peppermint remedies for halitosis is tea. The ideal way to make a mint infusion is to choose fresh mint instead of packaged.

This remedy will be much more effective if you buy fresh mint in a grocery store or local market.

  • Put four fresh mint leaves in a small pot of water (about a glass).
  • Put it on the stove and boil for a few minutes.
  • When the infusion is ready, let stand and cool before consumption.

This mint infusion should be drunk 2-3 times a day, preferably after meals. You can drink it during breakfast and after every other meal. You will notice how soon your bad breath will improve as you will have a fairly fresh and pleasant breath.

2. Chewing mint leaves

This is another tip to make you feel more comfortable. Instead of chewing gum or another product that doesn’t really solve your problem, despite your belief in advertising, choose mint leaves instead.

Chewing two leaves at a time is enough to freshen the breath and get rid of halitosis.

For the remedy to be effective, you need to keep the mint leaves in your mouth as long as you can. The recommended time to get most of the benefits from chewing these leaves is 3 to 5 minutes.

This is the most natural and effective way to get instant relief at any time.

If you plan to eat in a cafe or meet someone for coffee, mint leaves will help prevent bad breath. You can take it with you.

Halitosis should not be underestimated, as it can occur suddenly.

3. Natural mint drink

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch of mint leaves
  • 2 kiwis
  • 2 tbsp of honey
  • 1 peach
  • water (to taste)

Preparation:

  • Wash and slice the fruit very well. Cut the mint.
  • Put all the ingredients in a blender. The amount of water will depend on whether you want a liquid or thick cocktail.
  • Also, if the amount of honey makes the mixture too sweet for your taste, just reduce it.
  • When the drink is well mixed, you can drink it.

We recommend drinking it in the morning on an empty stomach. However, it can be drunk at any other time of the day.

Note, that it is better to drink it separately.

This mixture improves bad breath, not only because it refreshes the mouth, but also because it has a calming effect on the stomach and helps release toxins. Keep in mind that poor digestion is one of the main causes of bad breath.

In any case, if bad breath persists, despite good oral hygiene, it is advisable to see a dentist to rule out other conditions, such as tooth decay or Zenker’s Diverticulum. These are diseases that can only be solved with certain treatments.
